More than anything on earth man enjoys tragedies, bullfights and crucifixions; and when he
invented Hell for himself, behold, it was his heaven on earth.

Part 3 "THE CONVALESCENT" No. 2

In the marketplace no one believes in Higher Men. And if you want to speak there, very well,
do so. But the mob blink and say: "We are all equal, man is but equal before God . But now
this God has died. And let us not be equal before the mob.

      "OF HIGHER MEN" No. 1

For today the petty people have become lord and master: they preach submission and
acquiescence and prudence and diligence and consideration and the long etcetera of petty
virtues. What is womanish, what stems from slavishness and especially from the mob
hotchpotch; that now wants to become master of man's destiny- o disgust! disgust! disgust!

And let us face it, in a market oriented society, an enemy is good for business... Until such
attitudes change, there will always be enemies around to satisfy the simpleminded, and to tell
fools where their duty lies.

The Masses
Conformity confers survivability on society, be it bands of hunter gatherers or current
ethnic or national societies. If societies were composed entirely of individualistic, selfish, free
thinking members, competition with societies composed of conforming members would be
impossible. Blind, thoughtless conformity holds the masses together. Many factors such as
language, common need, geography, tradition contribute to conformity. Gullibility of the
masses is essential for conformity. They can be made to believe anything; but only if it is in
keeping with their inherent qualities of self preservation.
The destructive story of man against man and nature throughout history was only
possible by indoctrination of the masses in one form or another. The masses are swayed by
clothing political and economic goals in moral precepts which have little or nothing to do with
the real goals. Questioning these precepts leads to ostracism at best and prison and execution
at worst. There is no question of right or wrong, but only the need to defend and expand a set
of customs to which the masses have been made to feel comfortable. Indoctrination of the
masses with fear of losing a way of life to which they are accustomed has been turned into
mass convulsions for the sake of political and economic power in the name of "converting the
heathen," "retaking the holy land," "spreading Islam," "freeing the slaves," "saving the world
for democracy," "stopping aggression," to name only a few idealistic slogans. These
convulsions have produced nothing but devastation of humanity and eventually, worse for
humanity, devastation of the earth. Among animals, only a so called "thinking" human can tell
himself he is fighting and dying for such fables.
A perfect example is the fiasco romantically called "desert storm." Only a minority of US
citizens ever heard of Iraq. They did not know or care that it was in Iraq one of the first
civilizations on earth arose about 4000 years ago; that struggles among Semites and between
Semites and non-Semites have been going on from about that time to the present; that the area
called Iraq was dominated by the British and the French for approximately the last 200 years;
that Saddam Hussein came to power as a counterforce to this domination; that a portion of
land belonging to Iraq was arbitrarily annexed to Kuwait when Kuwait became an independent
state in 1961, after development of the oil industry in the area by Britain and the US; or that a
treaty between Britain and Kuwait protects Britain's oil interests; or that Kuwait is ruled by an
unscrupulous absolute monarch, no less unscrupulous or absolute than Hussein. Instead, the
unspoken need to protect US oil interest and to prevent the unimaginable loss by the US
populace of the possibility to drive their automobiles when and where they chose; plus the
"silent" influence of the Jewish lobby to protect Israel resulted a mass hysteria in the name of
"stopping aggression." Yellow ribbons adorned fence posts, trees, radio antennas, women "s
breasts and bumper stickers proclaimed support for the war or obscene remarks about
Hussein. Troops killed by "friendly fire" were honored as heroes. Rather than give in to a
renewal of domination by the West, Iraq has continued to support Hussein with the resulting
deprivation. All this might even be described as trivial when compared with the destruction of
wildlife in and around the Persian Gulf.
As a result of constant mass indoctrination, most US citizens have been made to believe
the US is the most "moral" nation on earth. They believe the US has the "moral" right to set
itself up as the model for the world in the area of human rights. It declares itself the final judge
of other nations and peoples in this regard. Nothing could be further from the truth than these
assertions. Historical facts, in large part unobtainable from a practical standpoint, deny these
convictions. The reality of its exploits in Mexico and Central America, Germany, Chile, Iran,
Cuba, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other countries are unknown to most US citizens.
In fact, few care. It is the one country in the so called developed world which does not
provide health care for its citizens. Even taken alone, the development and use of the atomic
bomb was the greatest crime against nature and humanity in world history.
      Just as other animal species,
H. sapiens has created habitats for himself. These habitats
consist of more than a dwelling place. In addition, they consist of all that make up his way of
life; from the language he speaks, to the god he worships, to the car he drives, to the number
of children he produces, to the football team he favors, to the food he eats, to what he
considers his rights and pleasures. Just as any other species he fights and dies for this habitat,
in no sense for so called ideals, no matter how loudly and widely they are proclaimed. The
masses can only be indoctrinated with ideas in keeping with basic instincts of habitat
preservation. These basic instincts have been made use of throughout history by rulers,
generals, politicians, business consortiums and other "leaders" from an unknown Sumerian
ruler to Shell Oil Corporation for their own ends. The art of instilling fear of loss of habitat into
the masses has made the history of mankind what it is, with its continual upheavals and
destruction.
For most of history, the masses have made the best of their lot. Before the eighteenth,
century most of the population were farmers or artisans pursuing the same livelihood from one
generation to the next. Work and recreation revolved around traditional life styles with pride of
achievement. The idea of equality was unheard of. It was only with the preachings and
writings of countless social conscious zealots, inspired by Rousseau and Marx and the like that
the masses were made to believe they had to strive for the goal of equality. They soon realized
this goal would give free reign to their long smoldering greed. Since equality of intellect and
creativity is an impossibility, economic equality has become the goal of the masses. Strife to
achieve this goal has made greed a necessity for self preservation. The strife for economic
equality among individuals, legislated by governments world-wide in the nineteenth and
twentieth centuries, allowed for greater use and distribution of the earth's resources with its
consequent pollution and destruction.
The masses, accustomed to the idea of the right and necessity of each individual to struggle
for his own ends, will never be indoctrinated into creating a world in which procreation,
production and construction are decreased to a level possible without the pollution and
destruction created by the overutilization of the earth's resources. Because of this, destruction
and pollution will continue at an ever greater rate, to the point human life cannot be sustained.
      Possibly the actions of
H. sapiens will be no more devastating than an impact by a large
meteorite.
