Redemption
Redemption is a word which does not need to exist.
Redemption from what, from being born? One could hardly avoid
that. From living? Yes, perhaps that; by essentially not living, by
constraining oneself in a rigid framework of "morality" and
conformity and especially by becoming humble and self
deprecating and long suffering one can possibly achieve this
imagined goal. Why is suffering valued as ennobling; Christ on the
cross, soldiers on the battlefield, starving children, physically and
mentally handicapped? Must these people exist so that humans can
redeem themselves in pity?
